Green is new this year to one of the trade’s most prestigious contests, the Sub-Zero and Wolf 2008-09 Kitchen Design Contest, the new Sustainable Green category acknowledges the efforts of designers worldwide to use earth-friendly materials and energy saving design without sacrificing kitchen aesthetics or function.Requirements for qualifying kitchens are fairly minimal, but design choices will bear maximum impact. According to contest rules, kitchen entries must include at least one full-size Sub-Zero built-in or integrated unit and Wolf cooking appliance as its primary food preparation equipment. This includes ranges, rangetops, ovens and cooktops.
In addition to the Sustainable Green category, two first place national winners will be selected in a traditional/transitional kitchen and one for a contemporary/minimalist kitchen. There are many other categories available. Over $115,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to regional, national and international winners.
